Niligiri Palace, Balasore, Orissa
Nilagiri State was a Princely States of India during the British Rule . It belonged to the Orissa States Agency and its capital was at Raj Nilgiri . In 1949 it was merged into Balasore District. The name of Narayan Singh Bhujang Mandhata Birat Basant Harichandan (1521-1564) is associated with this dynasty. During the reign of Kishor Chandra Mardraj Harichandan , the merging of the Princely States took place on 1 st January 1948. The palace is dwelled by the descendents of the family, Jayant Chandra Mardraj Harichandan being the present Head of the family. A Jagannath temple and a Raghunath Jiu temple is present next to the palace.
